                       CHARACTERS INFORMATION
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Squall LeonhartAge: 17Sex: MaleHeight: 5'10" (177 cm)Birthdate: August 23
Blood Type: ABWeapon: Gunblade
Something happened to Squall many years ago; since then, he resolved to
go forward on his own, without depending on anyone. He avoids
interacting with people, even now, saying what needs to be said and
waiting for the other person to go away. His bitter rivalry with Seifer
leads him close to the brink of disaster.Name: Rinoa HeartillyAge: 17Sex: Female
Height: 5'4" (163cm)Birthdate: March 3Blood Type: unknownWeapon: Blaster Edge
Rinoa is a 17 year-old girls with a kind heart and quick mouth. She
leads the Timber resistence group " Forest Owls, " but seems uncertain
of her motives or intention. Unlike Squall, she has no compunctions
about showing her feelings, and can be- at times- downright flirtatious.
Name: Zell DinchtAge: 17Sex: MaleHeight: 5'6" (167cm)Birthdate: March 17
Blood Type: BWeapon: Gloves
Brash and fiery, Zell is always aching for a fight ans is ready to
rumble with all who cross his path. He's not just a stupid bruiser,
however; he cares deeply for his mother, his hometown of Balamb, and for
his friends. If only he could get one of those infamous hot dogs!
Name: Seifer AlmasyAge: 18Sex: MaleHeight: 6'1" (188cm)Birthdate: December 22
Blood Type: AWeapon: Gunblade
Seifer is Squall's longtime rival, with the same level of ability but an
extra dose of arrogance. He also has something of a romantic streak in
him, a " dream " of nobly defending those in need and vanquishing those
who oppose him. As the game progresses, the romantic streak turn vicious...

Name: Selphie TilmettAge: 17Sex: FemaleHeight: 5'1" (157cm)Birthdate: July 16
Blood Type: BWeapon: Nunchaku
Selphie is a classic teenager, full of boundless energy- but still a
quick thinker. She's not an airhead; she's just frothing over with
hyperkineticism! As a transfer student from Trabia Garden, she's
homesick yet eager to make new friend. Be sure to check out the Balamb
Network to read this computer whiz's diary!Name: Irvine Kinneas Age: 18Sex: Male
Height: 6' (185cm)Birthdate: November 24Blood Type: OWeapon: Shotgun
Irvine is an affable southern gentle and a consummate ladies' man. He
herald from from Galbadia Garden, and though his sniping skills are
impeccable, his confidence sometimes lacks. He's always putting the
moves on the ladies- and may have eyes for a special someone in your
party. He's also good at taking in situation and " doing the right. "
Name: Quistis TrepeAge: 18Sex: MaleHeight: 5'6" (172cm)Birthdate: October 4
Blood Type: AWeapon: Chain Whip
Quistis is a precocious teenager who teaches at Garden. She may have
habours feelings for Squall in the past- and still may, to a degree. A
natural leader, she works to keep the group together in moments of
strain and stress. Extremely intelligent and focus, but emotionally
uncertain of herself.Name: Laguna Loire Age: 27 Sex: Male
Height: 5' 11" (181cm) Birthdate: January 3 Blood Type: B Weapon: Machine Gun
Laguna is a soldier in the Galbadian army, but he'd rather be doing
something more ordinary- such as journalism. He is so careless that he
loses his way during military operations and takes an improper map for
the operations. Always the optimist, Laguna's a very down-to-earth and
likeable guy, but he's always looking out for others and willing to lend a hand.
Name: Ward Zaback Age: 25Sex: Male Height: 217 cm Birthdate: February 25
Blood Type: A Weapon: Harpoon
A large Galbadian soldier. Big fellow, salt-of-the-earth, and very
dependable. His warm-heartedness and boisterousness is often a foil to
Kiros' calculating nature. Being more than 2 meters tall, he is very
powerful. Something of the silent type.Name: Kiros Seagul Age: 23 Sex: Male
Height: 191 cm Birthdate: July 6 Blood Type: O Weapon: Daggers
Kiros is a dutiful soldier of Galbadia with a serious personality. But
he's not above letting out a few dead-pan riffs when Laguna deserves
them. Correcting Laguna's mistakes has become his reason for living. His
slim body and brown skin make him look very exotic. He is very
particular abouts clothes, but his sense is too perculiar for other to
understand.Name: Fuujin Age: 17 Sex: FemaleHeight: Unknown Birthdate: Unknown
Blood Type: Unknown Weapon: Boomerang or Shuriken
She has an eye patch on her left eye. Her weapon looks like a boomerang
or a shuriken. She talks with only Kanji. Like Seifer, she brings
pressure to students of the Garden. She is stone-faced and close-lipped.
Though she looks cold-hearted, she has passion in her mind. She is
strong-minded, and looks down on all men, but is devoted only to Seifer.
Therefore, she looks on Squall as her enemy. Name: Raijin Age: 18Sex: Male
Height: Unknown Birthdate: Unknown Blood Type: Unknown Weapon: Club
He is a meaty big man. He has beads on his chest and has a club in his
hand. He seems to be poor at thinking deeply and is sometimes deceived
or made use of. In a word, he may be undefiled and simpleminded. He is
always henpecked by Fuujin. He says one word too many and is kicked by
her. As he is devoted to Seifer, he regards Squall with hostility.
Name: Cid Kramer Age: 35 Sex: Male Height: Unknown Birthdate: Unknown
Blood Type: Unknown Weapon: Unknown
Not much is known about Cid in FFVIII besides that he's the Headmaster
of Balamb Garden. Squall and others have a shared past in which they've
grown to care and respect him. Cid's beliefs on the development of
Garden soldiers are relatively humane. His students are elite and are
feared all around the Garden. Also, in case you didn't know, Cid has
been in all the Final Fantasy games. But he is not the same person every
time... Edea Age: Unknown Sex: Female Height: Unknown Birthdate: Unknown
Blood Type: Unknown Weapon: Unknown
A witch with bewitching beauty who appeared in Galbadia, Edea uses
telekinesis, teleportation, barrier and brainwashing to control people
as she likes. Conniving, calculating and just plain evil, the sorceress
Edea allies with Galbadia only to further her own agenda. But what is
her agenda? And why has she arisen to power only now?AngeloAge: 2 Sex: Female
Height: 55 cm Birthdate: December 13 Blood Type: Unknown Weapon: Hrmm...claws?
This is Rinoa's pet dog. I'm surprised there's so much information! She
is used in Rinoa's special attacks. Some of these are: Angelo rush,
Angelo strike, Angelo canon...

                        JUNCTION INFORMATION
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Junction, is a new ability added to Final fantasy 8. You can only use
the junction ability when you have G.Fs. Once you've junctioned a G.F to

a character, then you can do many things. When you've junctioned a G.F
to a character, you can also junction certain abilities to your attack
menu. You can also junction magic to your character to make your
character stronger, faster etc etc. So, it is good that you take time to
draw magic from your enemies so that you can junction your magic and
make your characters stronger. Here's a rough plan:

By junctioning certain magics, you can raise the stats of your
character. It is a good idea to stock up on magic, since it's free, and
all you have to do is equip the draw ability to your attack menu and get

                          GUARDIAN FORCES
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's some information of the G.Fs.Quezacotl---------
Overview: The Aztec thunder god puts the smack down on water-based and
robotic foes, but his true power comes in card manipulation. Without his
techniques, you'll have trouble obtaining the rare cards and items you
need to thrive. In the game's early stages, " Mid Mag-RF " is invaluble.

Useful Skills: " Card " Command, " Card Mod " Menu, " Mid Mag-RF " Menu
---------------------------------------------------------------------Shiva-----
Overview: The Hindu God of Destruction is apparently as icy as a snow
queen. Her Elem-Atk and Elem-Def Junctions give characters an edge
against elemental enemies. Fire-based enemies shiver at the though t of
her Diamond Dust attack, but everyone fears her countdown to death called Doom.

---------------------------------------------------------------------Ifrit-----
Overview: This demonic hell-beast is a physical powerhouse. His Strength
junctions and percent-ups beef up your blows, while his " Mad Rush "
command instantly turns an ordinary party into a team of sped-up,
protected, berserker killing machines. " Ammo-RF " becomes useful once
Irvine joins your party- without this skill, you'll be shooting blanks.

Useful Skills: " Str-J " Junction, " Str+20/40% " Command, " Ammo-RF " Menu
---------------------------------------------------------------------Siren-----
Overview: Siren's forte is in quickly silencing a large group of foes. "
Treament " cures any status ailments and can be used even when your
character is silenced- invalueable for opponents that can mute an entire
party at once. " ST-Def-J " junctions are helpful, but " ST-Atk-J " is
invalueable: Junction a large number of any Status spell in this slot,
and most physical strikes will be accompanied by a " free " casting of
that spell that almost always connects- even against powerful enemies
and bosses. " Move-Find " reveals invisible Save and Draw Points-often
the only place to find the greatest spells.
Location: Draw from Elvoret, boss of Dollet assault scenario

                          HINTS & TIPS
---------------------------------------------------------------------No.1
After aquiring your G.Fs from the computer or whatever, make sure that
you let them learn the " Boost " commmand. It is a very important
command that most G.Fs have. It helps to do more damage to monsters. So
make sure that your G.Fs learn this command, and when you engage in a
battle and summon your G.F, press select once summoned and there will be
a small finger on the square button at the bottom right corner of the
screen. Keep pressing the square button to charge your G.F's power.
Remember, when there is a cross over the finger, don't press square! If
you do, it will reset the power gauge to 75.No.2
Always upgrade your weapons. It is very important that you do so as
you'll need alot of strength to beat the monsters. You can't solely
depend on G.Fs and magic. In Final Fantasy 8, this is also new. In order
to upgrade your weapons, you'll need certain items, and this makes it
different from previous Final Fantasy games. In order to get certain
items, you'll have to learn Diablo's " Mug " command and Quezacotl's "
Card Mod " command. You can only find some items by stealing it from
certain monsters. You might also have to change certain cards or rare
cards into items as that is the only way to get those items. More common
items can be received by killing certain monsters. Also, in Final
Fantasy 8, there is another thing that is needed before you can upgrade
your weapon... weapon magazines! Yes, in Final Fantasy 8, you need
weapon magazines to upgrade your weapons. These weapon magazines give
you a brief description of the weapon you want to upgrade to, and tells
you what you need to upgrade to the weapon. Once you have the items and
magazine, go to a upgrading shop to upgrade your weapon. Most towns have one.
No.3Remember, the higher your levels are, the higher the monsters levels
are. In Final Fantasy 8, the monsters grow as you grow. So if you are at
level 10, the monsters are also at level 10. With this new system added
to Final Fantasy 8, it adds more of a challenge when fighting against
monsters. So, always be properly equiped and also make sure you pack
some phoenix downs, potions, elixirs etc etc just in case you need them.

                          INTODUCTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You are Squall, a 17 year old guy at Balamb Garden trying to become a
member SeeD. SeeD is a group created by the Balamb Garden headmaster Cid
Kramer. SeeD members are a group of paid professional hired to get jobs
done. During the FMV, you see Squall fighting with someone. This person
is his arch enemy, Seifer. During the battle, Squall gets injured, and
this is where your journey to become an elite member of SeeD begins......

1.1 GOING FOR YOUR TEST
#####################################################################
Squall will be lying on a bed. Dr Kadowaki approaches you and asks you
how you feel. Answer her question and she'll talk to you about Seifer
and how he takes training sessions too seriously. She leaves you to call
your instructor to take you back. As soon as Dr Kadowaki leaves, someone
will talk to you. After she leaves, Quistis, your instructor will arrive
at the infirmary. There will be an FMV. After the FMV, Quistis will take
you and leave. As you're walking down the hallway, Quistis will have a
chat with you, and another FMV follows.
Next, you'll be at the classroom. Quistis briefs the students and warns
Seifer to be more careful the next time he trains with someone. She
requests that Squall to remain behind to see her in private while the
rest are dismissed. Now, you can turn on your computer and go to the
tutorial to get your two G.Fs Quezacoatl and Shiva. After that, off your
computer and go talk to Quistis. she tells you that you haven't passed a
test, and that you need to take that test today so that you are able to
take another test. She also tells you to meet her outside of Garden.
Leave the room and a girl will come running and bumps into you. You'll
get to know her later. She asks you whether you can give her a tour of
Garden as she just transfered from Trabia Garden and is unfamiliar with
Balamb Garden. Answer her question. Next, talk to the guy near the
elevator. He'll give you a bunch of cards that can be used to play a
game, or to change into items using a certain G.F ability. I'll talk
about that later. Take the elevator down. If you are with the girl,
you'll automatically bring to the location board. If you're not with
her, just head to the main gate. If you have given the girl a tour,
after the tour, go to the main gate. On your way to the main gate, draw
the cure magic.
Be sure to equip your G.Fs as they are essential when you get to the
FIRE CAVERN. Head west from Balamb Garden to get to the FIRE CAVERN.
Talk to the Garden Faculties blocking you from entering the FIRE CAVERN.
Select the amount of time you'll need to complete this task and enter.
Inside, you'll fight mainly fire enemies, so ice magic is good. Quistis
will talk to you as you walk. The path is straight forward so just
follow it. Don't forget to draw fire magic from the draw point. At the
end, you'll meet the boss, Ifrit.BOSS----Name: IfritLevel: 6HP: 1068
Info: Weak against ice. Nuilifies fire attacksDraw: Fire, Cure, ScanAP: 20
Items: 4 G-Returner, 1 Ifrit card
He's a fire elemental G.F. Use your G.Fs against him. Shiva works
especially well on him. He's not hard to beat, even at low levels. Just
try to keep your HP up, and also, have one person junction the magic
ability, and the other to junction the item ability so that you can use
spells and items. Also, if you've learnt Shiva's boost ability, it will
increase the damage dealt to Ifrit.
After beating him, you'll be able to equip him and use him. Leave the
cave and head back to Garden. Once back there, Quistis will ask you to
change and meet at the map of Garden. Go back to your room and to change
and rest.1.2 A NEW CHARACTER
#####################################################################
When you get back to the location board, Quistis will talk to you. There
will be an FMV here. You'll meet Zell Dincht, a fellow member wanting to
become a SeeD member. You'll also learn that for this next test, Seifer
will be your squad leader. After all that, head to the carpark and get
in the car. You'll be on the world map. The controls will be shown on
the screen. But just in case, here are the controls:CONTROLSMove Forward: Square
Move Backward: TriangleGet Out: XTurning: D-pad
Head towards Balamb town. You can just drive into Balamb town. Once
inside, you'll automatically drive to the dock where you'll have to
board the boat heading for Dollet. You might want to head back to the
town area to draw blizzard magic from the draw point. Go back and board
the boat. On the boat, Xu will brief you on the mission. It seems that
the Galbadian army has taken over Dollet. You are to go to Dollet and
kick those Galbadian idiots back to Galbadia and secure the area. In the
process, Seifer will piss Zell off. When Seifer asks you to go outside
and take a look, agree and go out. 1.3 LIBERATE DOLLET
#####################################################################
You'll get to see, yet another FMV. After that, you'll land on the
shores of Dollet. Take note that this is a test and you'll later get a
report on how you faired. Remember to junction G.Fs to yourself and
Zell, Seifer is optional as he doesn't do much.
Head up the stairs and fight the Galbadian soldiers. after that, head
through the tunnel. The layout here is also very simple. Just follow the
path until the water fountain, defeating all those Galbadian soldiers.
Once at the water fountain, Seifer will tell you to explore the area for
more Galbadian soldiers. Go to the other side of the fountain and you'll
encounter a soldier. After defeating him, Seifer will say that your job
is done, and all you have to do is wait.
Talk to Zell and Seifer, and after a while, Seifer will get really
pissed off, and wants to go kick more Galbadian ass. He decides to head
for the COMMUNICATIONS TOWER. For some reason, you support him, although
you hate him. Zell objects, but is forced to go as he is out numbered
two to one. Go upwards. The path is also straight foward so just follow
it, fighting random battles.
Once you reach the mountainous area, you'll see dollet soldiers that are
injured. Talk to them and as you head up the stairs, you'll see a guy
that pleads for help. Suddenly, he is pulled back and he screams. Out of
compassion, you go and help him. You'll fight a Anacondaur. It's kinda
like a sub boss. He's not too tough, just use your G.Fs. It is weak
against ice, so Shiva is good here. After that, continue to head up the
stairs. When you reach the top, you'll listen to some Galbadian soldiers
talking. They head into the COMMUNICATIONS TOWER and Seifer decides to chase
them. Just then, there will be another FMV. After the FMV, you'll learn
that the girl that bumped into you earlier is Selphie. She says that she
has a message for the squad leader. Upon seeing that Seifer has gone to
chase the Galbadian soldiers, she decides to jump down the cliff to
catch up with Seifer to pass him the message. Zell asks you whether you
are really gonna jump down the cliff. Answer him by say yes or no. I
said yes to get there faster.
Once down there, you'll chase up with Selphie. You'll see Seifer chase
the Galbadian soldiers out of the COMMUNICATIONS TOWER. Selphie tries to
pass the message to him, but he's too quick and has already head back
inside the COMMUNICATIONS TOWER. Selphie decides to go inside the
COMMUNICATIONS TOWER and you follow. Inside, draw magic from the draw
point, save your game, and head up the elevator. This is where you meet

Biggs and Wedge, two Galbadian soldiers. Note, you might want to
junction a G.F to Selphie before going up the tower.
Biggs fixes the machine, and there'll be an FMV. After that, you'll have
to fight Biggs, which will later be joined by Wedge. After fighting them
a while, they'll get blown away by some monster call Elvoret. You'll now

have to fight this monster. remember to draw Siren from it. Keep using
your G.Fs and you should win, just remember to keep your characters
alive, and heal when nessary.BOSSES------Name: BiggsLevel: 10HP: 705Info: N/A

After the battle, Selphie will tell Seifer the message. You have 30
minutes to get the hell out of there and make it back to the shore!
Leave immediately and get your ass back to the shore! Once back down,
SAVE your game! You're in for some major difficulties when you leave the
building.
When you've gonne out of the COMMUNICATIONS TOWER, you'll suddenly see a
giant crab like robot monster! It's name is X-ATM092. It jumps down and
you'll have to versus it. This crab like monster is a boss.BOSS----

You can defeat it, but it's impossible to actually win this battle. Even
with high levels etc, it will still repair itself. Just is hit it until
it's down so that you can run. Use G.Fs especially Quezacoatl and
desperation moves. It is weak against lightning. If you have gotten
Quzalcoat's boost ability, it will be better. This robot is quite slow,
so you have a speed advantage. When you've hit the monster until it has
fallen, and there's a message from Zell that is located on the top that
says to run, RUN!
Go back down the path, and you'll have to fight it a few more times
until you reach the city area of Dollet where there is an FMV which
shows the crab crushing a car. Squall will be running for his life! When
he reaches the beach, Quistis pumps the robot with lead and Squall is
safely on board the ship heading back for Balamb.1.4 THE PARTY
#####################################################################
Once you've back at the Balamb dock, you'll see Fujin and Raijin comming
to suck up to Seifer. They ask him about the mission and stuff like
that. Seifer tells them about the stuff etc etc etc, and they leave,
taking the car! Looks like you'll have to walk back to Garden. Once
you're back at Garden, you'll see Quistis, Cid and Xu standing at the
location board. You can't avoid them, so you have to talk to them. After
the chit chat, go up to the second level, where you see many students
waiting for the results.
Talk to them. After a while, a Garden Faculty will come and announce the
results of the test. Zell and Squall are the only ones there that passed
the test. Looks like Seifer flunked yet again. Anyway, head for the
elevator and you'll automatically be sent to Headmaster Cid's office.
You, Zell, Selphie and another guy whom you'll get to know later have
passed the test. The Headmaster gives his speech, and whispers something
into everybodies ears. After that, everyone is dismissed. Talk to
Headmaster Cid and you should receive an item or something. I can't
remember. Leave the room and take the elevator down. You'll
automatically be back at level 2. Walk back to the classroom area and
you'll see Seifer and his two pals, Fujin and Raijin. There are also
some other students there. Seifer will start to clap for you, and soon
all the others there start to clap and you all start to blush.
Now, go back to your room and get changed for the party. You might want
to save before you leave. Selphie will be in your room when you reach
there. Talk to her when you first get back to your room and when you're
fully changed.
You'll be transported to the party. There, you lean on a pillar. Zell
approaches you and starts to talk. You ignore him and he leaves.
Suddenly, you hear Selphie's voice. She is look for people to join her
in organizing some festival. She approaches you and asks you to join.
Give her your answer, and after that, there will be an FMV where you
look across the hall and see a girl that wants to dance with you.
She approaches you and talks to you and drags you to the dance area.
Here, you'll get to see yet another FMV. It seems that Squall can't
dance! Eventually, with this girl's help, Squall gets the hang of it.
The dance end abruptly after the fireworks start as the girl sees
someone and walks off.
You'll now be at some balcony. Quistis will appear and will talk to you.
She wants to meet you at the SECRET AREA in the training centre. So
leave, get changed and go to the training centre. At the training
centre, draw the magic from the draw point near the bridge. The SECRET
AREA is at the back of the training centre. If you still can't find it,
the path leading to the SECRET AREA is next to the save point.
At the SECRET AREA, Quistis talks to you about her not being able to be
an instructor anymore. She talks about how she became a SeeD and a
instructor etc. After that, leave the SECRET AREA and go back out.
You'll hear someone shouting for help. It's the girl that you saw just
now in the infirmary. She's being attacked by a monster!BOSS----Name: Granald
Level: 8HP: 1456Info: Weak against windDraw: Sleep, Blind, ShellAP: 14

This boss is weak against wind. Too bad there is no wind magic. Just use
G.Fs. This boss has three sidekicks to help him with his dirty work.
Don't worry, those sidekicks can't attack you, they are actually use by
the boss as weapons. Draw sleep from the boss and cast it on it. While
it is sleeping, kill off his three sidekicks and draw magic from him
too! Sleep and blind are very useful. After defeating them, two white
SeeD cadets will come and escort the girl to safety.
After that, head back to your room. You learn from Zell that your room
has been upgraded to a single room instead of having to share rooms due
to the fact that you are now a SeeD cadet. So, go back to your room and
check it out. Cool! Well, better get some rest. It's a big day tomorrow.
Note: You can get another copy of the Weapons Monthly Magazine from
Squall's desk in his room after fighting Granald.
Now that you are a SeeD cadet, you'll get a rank. You can increase your
rank by taking tests which can be taken when you go to the tutorial in
your menu and choosing test. Here are the answers for the test. Take
note that you can only take test acording to Squall's level. So if
Squall is level 7, he can only take the test until test 7.Test Answers:

1.5 HELP THE RESISTENCE FACTION IN TIMBER
#####################################################################
When you wake up, you hear Selphie knocking on your door. She tells you
to meet at the CENTRAL GATE as you've got a job. Well, save your game if
you haven't and go to the CENTRAL GATE. On your way there, make your way
to the library. In the library, there is a draw point which has esuna.
At the central gate, you see Selphie, Cid and a Garden Faculty. Where's Zell?
Suddenly, out of no where, Zell appears on his T-board, making it just
on time. His T-board gets confiscated by the Garden Faculty as you are
not allowed to use T-boards in Garden and you are briefed on the mission
by both cid and the Garden Faculty. You are to go to TIMBER STATION to
help the Resistence Fraction against President Deling. Squall has been

choosen to lead the group of three. Cid will also give you a cursed
lantern. It is said that the lantern has magical powers. Anyway, better
get going.
Head for Balamb town. Once there, if the draw point has magic, draw the
magic. Go to the train station which is at the left from the weapons
upgrading shop. There, you'll meet the Card Queen. There is also a item

shop. You might want to purchase some items. Hi-potions, phoenix downs
etc. After that, go into the train station. You'll be asked by the train
attendent to purchase a train ticket for 3000 gil.
Buy the ticket and board the train. Once one the train, Selphie and Zell
will ask you to open the door. You'll automatically open it and They
both will rush in. Save your game. Extra! Extra!
You can actually versus the G.F in the cursed lantern right now. I
managed to defeat him, even at low levels. The G.F is Diablos. It mainly
attacks enemies with status effects. Diablos uses demi. He attacks can
be quite damaging, but as long as you have about 2 Hi-potions, 5 potions
and 3 phoenix downs, plus your 3 G.Fs, it should be enough. It will be
better if you have learnt the boost ability for all three G.Fs. The
lower your levels, the easier this G.F boss is. at least for me it is. I
fought it at level 99 and i had a lot of trouble. I fought it the next
time at level 10 and I beat it in like about 5 to 10 minutes. Oh yeah, I
forgot that his levels, hp etc all depends on your levels. So......
well, you'll have to figure it out yourselfBOSS----Name: DiablosLevel: 10

Depending on his levels, Diablos will have extra moves. The earlier you
fight him, or the lower your levels, the weaker he is. Just draw demi
from him and cast it on him to reduce his hp by 1/4. Also use G.Fs and
desperation moves. Make sure you have a few phoenix downs and potions as
they are essential.
Talk to Selphie and she'll express her love for trains. After that, Go
inside the room which Zell went into. You'll see Zell bouning up and
down. He's hsving a great time. You'll also receive a magazine here.
When Selphie enters the room, she tells you and Zell that she's very
tired. Soon, she falls onto the couch and falls asleep. Zell too, falls
asleep. You begin to hear this noise in your head and faint on the floor.
1.6 WHO IS THIS MAN?
#####################################################################
The screen switches over to another guy and his party. His name is
Laguna. He's a Galbadian soldier and is with his two friends Ward and
Kiros. Laguna is the one with the long hair and a gun. Ward is the big
sized one with the bandana on his head, and a weapons that looks like a
giant clock hand. Kiros is the skinny guy with two swords. If you didn't
know, Laguna takes Squall's place, and hence has his G.Fs, magic etc.
Ward takes Zell's place, and Kiros takes Selphie's place.
You're supposed to follow the straight forward path back. Along the way,
there will be some talking between the three. There is a draw point in
the middle of the path which has long grass all around. When you reach
your car, there is also also another draw point I think. Board your car
and you'll automatically drive off.
You'll arrive at Deling city. Laguna just parks his car anyway he wants
and gets off, causing a traffic jam. Laguna tells Kiros and Ward to go
drinking with him. So head for the GALBADIA HOTEL. Go to the right from

where you are to get there. Once there, go inside and at the
receptionist desk, go down the flight of stairs. Talk to the waiteress
to get your usual table.
Through the conversation between Laguna, Kiros and Ward, you learn that
Laguna's main reason for comming to the bar is to hear some girl by the
name of Julia play the piano. Julia will appear and will star playing
the piano. Kiros and Ward force Laguna to go and talk to her. As Laguna
approaches the stage, he gets a leg cramp. Julia will approach Luguna
and talk to him for a while. She also asks him to go to her room!
Go talk to Kiros and Ward and see what they say! After that, go up, and
talk to the person at the receptionist desk and ask for Julia's room.
Once up there, there will be a conversation between the two. After that,
it switches back to Squall and company.
1.7 TIMBER STATION AND THE RESISTENCE FRACTION
#####################################################################
When you reach TIMBER STATION, a guy will approach you and asks you a
question. Give him the answer which Cid told you and he'll lead you to
his base which is actually a train. On the train, you'll learn that he
is Watts, and the guy in blue is Zone. They are part of the resistence
fraction. They seem to be short of one member, their so called princess.
Zone asks you to go and wake her up. Head up the stairs and into the
room right at the end.
In the room, you'll see a familiar face. Yup, it's the girl you danced
with. after the short chit-chat, you'll learn that her name is Rinoa and
she's been asking Garden to send SeeD cadets to help her resistence
fraction the Timber Owls or something like that. She'll also introduce
you to her dog, Angelo. After that, head out of the room and back to the
entrance. Once there, you'll be asked to move into the conference room.
Inside, Rinoa, Watts and zone will brief you on your mission.
It seems that President Deling will be passing through town. Your job is
to capture the president in his train carridge. To do that, you must
input passwords and stuff like that. Just follow the tutorial and
pratice on the test model. After that, exit out of the room and talk to
zone when you are ready. You might want to save your game before you do
this. There is a save point in the first room up the stairs. After that,
talk to Watts. You'll begin the mission. Just follow Rinoa. When you
reach the place where you have to input the passwords, Zell will look
out for the red guard and Selphie will look out for the blue guard. Go
down and input the password. Here are the controls:Up: go upDown: go down
Circle: 1X: 2Square: 3triangle: 4L1: look to your leftR1: look to your right
Remember to look out for the guards. When they are coming, Zell or
Selphie will tell you that they are coming. You have to enter each
password under five seconds, so be quick. You have to enter three
passwords. After inputting the passwords, there will be an FMV.
Next, you'll be at another part of the train. This time, Zell and
Selphie won't be helping you as they've gone to another part of the
train. So, you're on your own. Look out for the guards. And, when on top
of the train, when there is a red guard under you, stay still. He's go a
motion sensor When there's a blue guard, run! He's got a heat sensor.
Once that's done, there will be another FMV. After the FMV, you'll be
back at the train with Zone and Watts.
It's time to pay president Deling a visit. When you're ready, talk to
Rinoa and you'll go into the presidents carridge. Remember to junction
your G.Fs and magic etc before going in. Rinoa will try to threaten the
president, but with no avail as the president is a fake! Prepare for a
boss battle! Twice in fact. This boss has two forms.BOSS----
Name: Fake president Deling(form 1)Level: 8HP: 458Info: N/ADraw: Cure

Name: Gerogero[I forgot](form 2)Level: 8HP: 2450
Info: Weak against fire, earth and holy Draw: Esuna, Double, Berserk, Zombie
Total AP: 20Items: 8 zombie powder
Defeating these two is easy. Fake president Deling is not weak against
anything, but has little HP. Just use your G.Fs to finish him. His
second form, has quite a bit of HP, but is weak against Fire, Earth and
Holy. So make full use of your Fire spells and Ifrit G.F. If you
junction your fire spells to your attacks it will do much more damage to
the monster. Another way to kill it is to use one phoenix down and it
will die instantly.
After the battle, you'll be back at the conference room. Talk to Rinoa
and you'll ask her about your contract. She'll pass you one, which you

hardly understand as the english use is too much for your vocabulary.
She then hands you another piece of paper. After that, head out of the
room, save your game and talk to Watts to leave the train.
You'll now be back at the Timber station. Now, head south pass the hotel
to meet some Galbadian soldiers bullying the local guards. Beat the
soldiers. Return to the train station and from there, head east to the
TIMBER MANIACS building. Enter the building, and be sure to search the
magazines. The second pile to the right has the " Girl Next Door"
magazine. Talk to the Timber Maniacs, leave the building and head right
and into the pub. There, talk to the people. Talk to the drunken man and
" tell him about the cards " to have him move away from the exit.
Leave through the back exit and climb to the top of the TV STATION. The
will be a scene here where Seifer holds the President hostage, and after
that, head to the house adjacent from the TIMBER MANIACS. Talk to
Quistis twice, from a new party and leave the house. Talk to the soldier
and you'll find out the he's actually Watts in disguise. Head right to
find Zone disguised as a old man. Talk to him and there will be another
scene. After that, continue right, cross the bridge, and head south to
board the train.
Talk to everyone on board the train, make sure that you talk to Zell the
last, and the train departs. Get off the train at the first stop, which
is EAST ACADEMY STATION, the place you are to stop at. After that go
through the small forest between to mountains and you'll have a scene
where you go into dream land again......
1.8 Welcome to Laguna's world...... again
#####################################################################
You'll now be back with Laguna and his team of Kiros and Ward. Follow
the path, fight the soldiers until you reach the three-way fork. Head
down the middle path ladder. When you come across three hatches, examine
the upper-right corner of the middle hatch and " tamper with it. "
Continue following the rocky path- first east, then north-until you come

across a torpedo and a boulder. Examine the torpedo and choose the first
option. head north along the staircase and continue north until you
reach a save point. Go north through the pipe, fight the soldiers and it
ends here when Laguna throws his mates off the cliff, then tries to go
down carefully but has a even more of a bumpy ride then his mates.
1.9 Galbadia Garden
#####################################################################
Once your party awakens, there will be a bit of talking before you leave
the forest. Leave and go to GALBADIA GARDEN, at the oppsite side of the
forest. Once in GALBADIA GARDEN, there will be some talking, followed by
a message asking you to go to the waiting room.
Head to the central hall and draw haste from the hidden draw point under
the yellow light, then head northand go up the stairs and enter the
first door on the second level. This is the waiting room. Then, once
everybody has settled down, talk to Zell, Quistis, Rinoa and Selphie in
that order. There will be some misunderstanding between Squall and his
members and he'll leave the room.
Go down the stairs and you'll see some people doing pumping on the
ground. Can you see Zell? He too, got caught for running along the
hallway. If you leave the area and go back, they'll be gone. Anyway,
head back to the main entrance and talk to Rinoa. After which, Martine
will arrive. He'll brief you on your mission blah blah blah, and
introduce Irvine Kinneas. You are to assasinate the witch.
Go to the train station northwest of the Garden and board the train
headed for DELING CITY. Once onboard, there will be a funny scene.
Irvine will go around trying to woo all the girls. Unfortunately, he is
rejected by all of them. He then tells his story about how shooters are
alone blah blah blah. After that, the train will leave and you'll be at
DELING CITY. 1.10 Deling City
#####################################################################
Ok! You're now in DELING CITY. Once you're out of the train, go up the
escalator, then head north to the bus stop. Once Bus 08 arrives, talk to
the conductor standing there to board the bus to CARAWAY'S MANSION. Once
outside CARAWAY'S MANSION, alight from the bus. Talk to the guard that
is nearly hidden in the background. From him, you'll be able to learn
about THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN KING. To prove that you are the SeeD
members called on to come to DELING CITY to stop the witch, you must
first prove yourself to be worthy. So, you must go to THE TOMB OF THE
UNKNOWN KING and find a missing person or the id of his sword. It is
located at the northeast corner of the continent. You have two options.
One, go by foot and face lots of tough enemies, or, two, rent a car and
face no enemies. The choice is yours. If you feel that you need the
money or have not enough money, or have Diablos " Encounter None "
Command, go by foot. If you don't want to spend your time fighting your
way to the place, and have enough money, go rent a car. Once you've made
up your mind, talk to the guard and ask him to show you the way to the
RENT A CAR shop. From there, you can leave DELING CITY.
1.11 TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN KING
#####################################################################
When you arrive, you'll see two girls running out of the tomb. You might
want to save your game in case you get lost in the tomb. If I'm not
wrong, there should be a draw point here. Draw the magic and enter the
tomb. Go north one screen and you'll find a sword lying on the floor.
Examine it to reveal the student id number. Remember, that the student
id number is never the same, so you can never use the same number again.
Anyway, the next part is for those who wish to get the BROTHERS G.F. So,
if you don't want to get them, skip the next section and go back to DELING CITY.
1.11a Getting the G.F Brothers (sub-quest)
#####################################################################
Ok, so you want to get the G.F Brothers right? Well, lets go! Ok, you
can actually navigate the entire tomb if you didn't know if you just
keep turning right at every intersection. You can press select anytime
inside the tomb to see the map. Head to the " East " room to fight
Sacred. He's by himself, so he is easier.BOSS----Name: SacredLevel: 15HP: 2468
Info: Weak against poison and wind. Earth has no effect.
Draw: Shell, Protect, Berserk, LifeAP: 20Items: 8 G-Hi-Potion
He only has one attack, but because he has his regeneration skill,
defeating Sacred can be a chore. To stop him from regenerating, cast
float on him. Use your G.Fs to their full extent, Diablos and Siren work
extremely well. Use aero magic on him as he's weak against it, and also
junction it to your attack.
After defeating him, hit the northmost room for the Draw Point and the
Floodgate switch. Continue turning right at every junction to leave the
tomb. Save your game, and re-enter.
Head straight north to the centre of the tomb. Now you'll fight the
brotherly duo of Sacred and Minotaur. BOSS----Name: SacredLevel: 15 HP: 2468
Info: Weak against wind and poison. Earth has no effect.
Draw: Shell, Protect, Berserk, LifeName: MinotaurLevel: 22HP: 5370
Info: Weak against wind and poison. Absorbs earth attacks.
Draw: Shell, Berserk, Protect, DoubleAP: 40
They are earth-based creatures and are weak against wind. Use Siren or
silence to stop them from using their regeneration move, and then hit
them with your most powerful spells and G.Fs. Draw double to increase
your offensive power and life in case your character dies. You might
want to keep your HP levels high as the brothers can do up to a few
hundred damage. Once you've defeated them and the gost of the unknown
king appears and blah blah blah, leave the tomb with your new G.F. Head
back for DELING CITY.1.12 All kill the witch
#####################################################################
Once back at DELING CITY, go back to the mansion and give the password
to the soldier. Remember, first enter 1's then 10's and then 100's.
You'll now be able to enter the mansion. Once inside, you'll have to
wait for the General to arrive. Talk to Rinoa and she'll tell you that
General Caraway is her father.
After that, the General will appear. He'll brief you on your mission
blah blah blah, leave the mansion to show you what to do etc etc. Once
ready and you gain control of Quistis and her party, Quistis feels bad
about what she said to Rinoa and decides to apologize. So go back to the
mansion.Rinoa realizes that her father is going to lock the doors to the room
and leaves before he can. You arrive only to be locked in! You now have
to guide Rinoa up some crates by pressing x near the crate. Save before
you go up as there is no turning back. Once you're at the roof top.
After the scene between Edea and Rinoa, you will gain control of Quistis
and party.
To solve the puzzle in the room, grab the wineglass from the cabinet and
place it on the statue. It will reveal a hidden passage. Head through
the hidden passage and into the sewers. Jump onto the waterwheel and
head north; the parade begins and you regain control of Squall and Irvine.
They'll be at the same place that Rinoa was at, so do the same thing and
bring them up the crates. You see the president on the ground. Go up
into the room and you'll notice a tile on the floor that can be opened.
Ignore it for now and instead, go into the next room. You'll see Rinoa
and two monsters. Prepare for a boss fight.BOSS----Name: IguionLevel: 19HP: 1747
Info: Weak against Earth and Holy. Fire and Poison have no effect.
Draw: Cure, Esuna, Petrify, CarbuncleAp: 20Items: 8 G-Returner
You'll only have Squall and Irvine for this battle. Use all your G.Fs
except Ifrit. Brothers are good against them. Remember to draw Carbuncle
from them as if you don't, well...... Carbuncle is gone forever. Draw
cure and esuna from the boss when you need it as they have an attack
that have status disorder, causing you to have a timer on top of one of
your character's head's. When the timer reaches zero, your character is
turned to stone. Use esuna to stop this status. Hope you bought bullets
for Irvine if he's gonna use his special. Also, make sure your G.F

Brothers have learnt the ability " Boost " to give them a upper hand at
dealing more damage to those Iguions.
After the battle, and the little bit of chit chat with Rinoa, go back to
the previous screen and examine the hatch at the corner of the room. It
will reveal a secret passage to the sniper rifle. Examine the sniper
rifle and after some talking, you'll be back with Quistis and her party.
1.13 The Deling City sewers
#####################################################################
Note that you can jump onto waterwheels and open gates in the sewers to
get to different places. Remember to draw life magic from your battles
with the Creeps for later use. If you have Diablos " Encounter None "
ability, it would be even better. Continue north until a cross junction,
then head west. Continue west until a corner junction, then head north
until a second cross junction. Head east, jumping across two waterwheels

as you proceed, then cross another two waterwheels and head south until
you reach the screen from which you entered the sewers from. Head east
until you see the Weapons Monthly magazine. If you missed it, you can
return to the sewers on a later disc to get it. Go north to reach a save
point and a ladder. Save your game and go up. Climb to the top level and
examine the window and then activate the switch.
Oh yes, you'll get to end it right now. Since Irvine shot the witch but
had no effect, Squall will finish the job. This will be the last battle
of the disc. Your party will consist of Squall, Rinoa and Irvine, so
make sure you properly equip them before the battle. It's time to kick
some ass!!!BOSS----Name: Seifer Level: 20HP: 1150Info: N/ADraw: Fire, Cure, Life
Name: EdeaLevel: 27HP: 7000Info: N/ADraw: Cure, dispel, Life, DoubleTotal AP: 20
Items: N/AYou'll have to fight Seifer one on one before you fight Edea. He's
pretty weak so you shouldn't have much problems. You might want to draw
life magic from him before you kill him. After that, you'll have to
fight Edea three on one! She has very damaging spells. Her magic is all
level three magic. Cast double on all your members and then cast shell.
Use your most powerful G.Fs to wipe her out. Edea can dispel your magic
barrier, so be careful. For a cheap and easy win, keep summoning
Carbuncle every turn and she'll be too busy dispelling your reflect
barrier instead of attacking you.
After the battle, the will be an FMV. Squall will get injured by Edea
after she throws a ice breg or something at you. Squall starts to close
his eyes as he looks at Rinoa who was trying to help him...... Congrads
man! You're now on Disc 2!!! Change the disc and continue playing.
